Devil may not kill, but he can render a man financially impotent. What a bitter strategy and siege.
Evidences of financial siege
When a siege is laid on a person or family’s finances, the following may be evidences:
*Unprofitable ventures – Bringing forth for trouble
*Labouring for another man to harvest (blessing diversion)
*Lack of help or death of a faithful helper of his/her destiny
*Borrowing and never being able to pay back
*Evil load of financial responsibilities
*Wrong investments that usually lead to huge financial loss
*Being regular victim of robbery attacks
*Hatred for prosperity message
*Fear of paying and giving liberally to the kingdom, the poor and prophets
*Calamity or tragedies of fire outbreak, unfavourable government policies, natural disasters, bank distress, etc that can paralyse the finances
*Debts or loans which often take years to repay through violent prayers
*Stinginess to self and family
*Embargo on sales or trade transactions
*Loss of several good opportunities that may lead to financial breakthrough.
*Prolonged sickness that can devour finances.
Facts About Poverty
+It is not God’s rod to correct His children. The bible says, He rebuke through His word.
“All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:
That the man of God may be perfect, thoroughly furnished unto all good works.” II Timothy 3:16-17
+ It is not one of the redemptive packages paid for by the blood of Jesus.
“Saying with a loud voice, worthy is the Lamb that was slain to receive power, and riches, and wisdom, and strength, and honour, and glory, and blessing.”Revelation 5:12
+ It is not the ticket to heaven.
“Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto you, except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.”
In Luke 16:19-31, we read the case of Lazarus who went to heaven as a poor man.
+ It is a choice
You must not complain about whatever you can tolerate
In Deut. 10:15-16, God declares that the poor shall not cease in the land.
In Deut. 30:19, He asked each man to play his card as he likes because of choice. Man is a free moral agent. Salvation becomes enforced the day a man becomes willing to surrender to Jesus even though he has paid the price over 2000 years ago. Prosperity is a choice; and poverty is a choice.
+ It is no respecter of title
In II Kings 4:1-8, a prophet was recorded that he died poor and indebted with no asset left for his wife and children but liability of debt which almost deprived the woman of her two sons.
From this story, we can see clearly that he had oil in the house. You may have anointing but yet financially impotent except you follow and obey the divine principle that guides financial prosperity.
God promised every believer a three dimensional prosperity. III John 2 says,
“Beloved I wish above all things that you may prosper and be in health, even as your soul prospers.”
Three levels of prosperity is identify in this verse of scripture.
Spiritual prosperity– Salvation of the souls of men. Man as a tripartite being is a spirit, has a soul and lives in the body. I Thessalonians. 5:23 says,
“And the very God of peace sanctify you wholly; and I pray God your whole spirit and soul and body be preserved blameless to the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.”
Spiritual prosperity or salvation without financial empowerment will lead to a frustrated Christianity.
Money answers all things, it is a defence and nothing moves until it moves. It is the wheel of the gospel and any genuine vision. Wisdom plus poverty is humiliation.
Physical (Bodily) prosperity
This is regenerated spirit + financial prosperity + sound health.
God desires that we have this three because none of this can function properly without the other. Vision becomes useless without sound health.
Stimulators of Financial Siege
*Sin – Proverbs 28:13 says,
“He that covers his sins shall not prosper; but whoso confesses and forsakes them shall have mercy.”
In the court of God, there is nothing like little sin and because God cannot behold iniquity, Satan, man’s archenemy look for spot to accuse and gain access to daily oppress us even though a believer may not be possessed.
In I Kings 17, there is a case of Elijah the prophet and his encounter with the widow of Zarephath. When you traced the biblical history of the woman, you will discover that she is a Sidonite, a Canaanite who has been besieged by a curse placed on Canaan the grandson of Ham in Genesis 19.
Her case was pathetic because she was not only a widow but poor. However God in His mercy met her at the point of hopelessness. She was supernaturally sustained during the famine.
Also curse may come when you trust in the arms of flesh and Devil sees a loophole to come in. Jeremiah 17:5 says,
“Thus says the Lord; cursed be the man that trusts in man, and makes flesh his arm, and whose heart departs from the Lord.”
*Laziness – Proverbs 6:6; 21:17; 18:9.
*Disobedience in tithe and offering, Malachi 3:8.
*Wrong attitudes to life
*Ingratitude – Malachi 2:1-2
*Wasteful spending – Luke 15:11-16
*Lack of saving culture – Proverbs 21:20
*Lack of investment culture – Proverbs 21:20
*Stinginess – Proverbs 11:23
*Seeking immediate gratification – I Kings 5:25-27
*Prayerlessness – Isaiah 16:12
*Wrong word – Proverbs 6:2; Numbers 13; you cannot talk poverty and expect riches.
*Wrong thought – Proverbs 23:7
*Wrong imagination – The wealth you cannot see you cannot received
